Aim of the course
This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills
required to perform an internal audit of part of a food safety management
system based on ISO 22000:2005 and report on the effective implementation and
maintenance of the Management System in accordance with ISO 19011. However,
this course does not address ISO 22000 in detail, and does not aim to equip
students with the knowledge and skills to determine conformity, or otherwise,
with ISO 22000. Students requiring the knowledge and skills to conduct entire
Food Safety management system audits against ISO 22000 may undergo a FSMS Auditor / Lead
Auditor training course.

to conduct internal audits of FSMS based on ISO 22000:2005

What prior knowledge should I have?
It is highly recommended that you have prior knowledge of the following
concepts:
• The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle
• A basic knowledge of the concepts of Food Safety management including prerequisite programmes as specified in ISO/TS 22002-1 and HACCP principles
• Basic knowledge of the requirements of ISO 22000:2005 standards
• Commonly used terms and definitions
• The core elements of a management system.
• Prior knowledge can be gained by completing our online foundation course on FSMS.
• The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle
• A basic knowledge of the concepts of Food Safety management including prerequisite programmes as specified in ISO/TS 22002-1 and HACCP principles

Certification
This course can be completed within thirty days from the date of
registration. All successful candidates will be awarded the FSMS
(ISO 22000:2005) Internal Auditor certificate by Integrated Assessment
Services.
Criteria for successful completion
The evaluation of this course will be based on the scores achieved in
the final exam.
• Score a minimum of 60% in the final exam.
